she has never made iced cookies though.

attached is the picture that the person sent to her. She was quoted 7.00 per cookie from one bakery.

of course I told her what was on the cookie (royal, fondant, yada yada) with the exception of the writing ( i dont know how thats done)

am I on the right track? and how much would YOU charge for these cookies?

considering the detail not under 5.00 per each you also have to take in account if this lady wants them wrapped and bowed with little cards.

I would charge between $4.25 -$5.25 each because of the many color variations and edible image. An extra 50 cents to $1.00 for bag and bow.$7.00 each isn't that far off!! They are very time consuming...more than a cake!!

Yep - those are very time consuming! At least $5, but I'd be happier with $6-$7 each!

Those look very similar to cookies that have been shown on another thread here. I think they're from bellaregallo.com or beau-coup.com. They come in 3 sizes. Replicating the writing would be the biggest challenge ... who knows how they do that. There appears to be no seams to indicate that it's been done from edible paper. Besides, you'd never get the color of the paper to match the background color of the frosting. So you'd probably have to write them out by hand - so add at least another $1 for that. The cookies in the picture must have been written on with some type of machine. I'd suggest to your friend that she just go ahead and buy them from the company that sent her the picture. After all, it's their design. They're sure pretty! Good luck.

I have to look on those sites.. My friend is the cooke baker not the person who sent the picture. And I believe that is acutally there name and wedding date on the cooke. Maybe she had someone doctor it up because as I am looking I see one that is VERY similar on beaucoup. strange I wonder why she doesnt want to get them from there (besides my friends cookies probably taste better)

I'm sorry - I just reread the message and now I understand. I believe people (myself included!) would be really interested in knowing how the baker did the writing ... let me search for the thread on that subject .... ah, here it is ...

Do you think your friend's client could find out somehow?

I believe there is a machine that you run the iced cookie through that prints directly onto the cookie.

Yes, there is a machine that does the printing on the cookies. There have been several threads about this in the last few months, I'll see if I can find one.

IIRC, the machines are quite expensive, so that may be a consideration in the high price of the printed cookies.

Laura.
