Dont Know What I Was Thinking..love Chocolate Transfers Now!

I have been trying to do chocolate transfers for a little while now, and didnt have good luck at first. With the help of CC users, I think I finally got the hang of them and now I love it! here is a pic of my *first* CT that was up to my standards. I will be putting it on my son's 1st birthday cake that I am doing as winnie the pooh theme. any constructive critism appreciated. Thanks for looking!

I love chocolate transfers and use them on nearly all of my cakes. I think it's such a great way to add a tasty design to a cake.
Thanks everyone! I am excited about this finally turning out! Everyone raved about them, but I just couldnt get it right, not to mention it was so messy and time consuming at first! Here are the things that made it easier for me (thanks for CC!)
What tips do you think made the difference?
what type of chocolate did u use?
I used parchment bags to do most of the work. The hole was really tiny that way and I had more contol. Not to mention it was easier than cleaning up bags and cheaper than disposible ones.
I used a toothpick for drawing in the really tiny lines in some places.
I kept the bags on a heating pad to keep the chocolate melted.
Originally I bought the candy colors and the flo coat to make the colors, but it was a lot of work, not to mention it made the candy taste kind of bad, so I just bought the wilton candy melts in all different colors.
I heated the chocolate in small baby food jars. That way I can just keep the left overs in there and it was less messy.
Also I did the transfers on a report cover. That way they turned out shiny instead of matte finish. It was nice because I could put the pic inside the folder and I could see it really well. I also popped it in the freezer for a few minutes before removing the chocolate. The first one I left in just a little too long so it was a little bent, but not bad.

That Pooh Bear is fantastic! I saw that someone said to use candy colors to color the chocolate? Is that what you're supposed to use? I've been using my regular colors! I was wondering why sometimes when I put the color in it would get all clumpy. But it didn't happen all of the time. So I need to buy candy colors? I don't see many varieties in my town of already colored candy melts.

Yeah, the regular colors will cause the chocolate to seize up. Someone on here said though that they used regular colors and added some crisco to it and it works for them. You can also buy the flo coat (from here) to add to the regular colors and that worked. I still found though that the chocolate didnt really taste that good with candy colors or with the added flo coat. The colored candy melts just worked better for me.
I've had trouble with the candy colors, too. I finally just bought the Merkens wafers in all the colors they offer, and I add just a little bit of candy color to them if I need to darken or change the color a bit. This seems to work better for me.

Let me just add one more tip...After I posted my pic of pooh (okay so I kept looking at it and moving it around) but anyway I ended up breaking it! AAAHHH! So I just didnt have it thick enough in the back, especially at the seams. So make sure you make it nice and thick in the back.. I had to make pooh again...boo. But I think he is even better now. Lesson learned!
