Many of my customers prefer my doctored mix cakes, but I would like to try a recipe for a scratch yellow cake. It has to be moist and not too dense. Does anyone have such a recipe? I have found a good recipe for a scratch chocolate cake but have not had any luck with any yellow scratch cake recipes. Please suggest to me recipes you have tried yourself and know for certain that they are moist, not too dense and delicious.
Thanks
I have made the most delicious cake from the book Cakewalk. It is a golden cake, very moist, and better than a mix!!!

Hi can you post your chocolate cake receipe? I'm looking for a really good one from scratch.
thanks
This is a really, really good chocolate cake. You can use whatever chocolate and cocoa you have, does not have to be the best stuff.

Well I finally tried the recipe for the golden cake and it was very delicious, much better than any doctored mix. The only problem now is How can I start using this recipe instead of my usual doctored mix without my regular customers noticing the difference?

If they notice a difference, first ask them if it is a good or bad change. You may want to bake in scratch, but you might find out your market goes more towards the taste of mixes.
If you have current customers that always order the yellow you might even want to let them know when they order that you have changed yellow cake recipes to give them a better product. If they have problems with it, better to find out before you make the cake than after.
