Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a decline in the photo comments since the upgrade to the new setup?

I have noticed that once before pretty much all cakes were getting quite a few comments, and now it seems even the really nice cakes may only have one or two comments... hmmm??

I have also noticed the same thing since the changes happened. But I'm not sure why that would happen. Anyone else any ideas?

I wasn't getting any comments then I went into My Forum Info and saw that most of the choices were switche to No. That must have happened when they were upgrading/reformatting the webpage.

I've noticed and then I also saw that all of my options were on the NO side in my forum. And I also have a problem with being "timed out" (my husband's explanation) when trying to look at pictures, add coments, or post in the forums.
I have to continually hit refresh to get in....maybe others are having that problem as well.
There are many photos I want to leave a comment on, but the computer will not allow me to do so

I've been seeing more new comments on the older pictures though. With the older favorites scrolling by it's bringing more attention to them which is nice.

I noticed a decline as well.Almost all of the pics I look at I leave a comment because I think even if it just says something short and sweet it makes that person happy!

Since the improvements to the site, the pics on the front page change very quickly now. If there is a decline, I think that it is just becasue there are so many more pics loading! (which is a good thing!) I personally don't think every pic has to be commented on ~ but if you have the time and want to leave a comment - have at it!

The one problem I see with the new reformatted site is when you search a specific type of cake (ex. Horses) the gallery sample will show 5 pics of horse cakes, but when you click on see more photos it just brings you into the vast gallery. Before they changed it, it would bring to to every horse cake every posted. I miss that

There might still be bugs that need to be worked out but I love the new system!!! The gallery works far better now than before in my opinion. As far as comments, I have posted 3 pics since the change was made and I have comments on my photos. I think it is just because so many more pictures are being uploaded now with the faster speed that you miss some of them. If you go in the gallery there is a tab to click on that will allow you to just see cakes with no comments. I like to go there once a day and post on pics that get left behind. Just an idea.

Good morning! I have to say....I"m guilty of not leaving a bunch of comments! I am always hurrying and seem to just add my favorites and then be done. However, I am going to change my ways...because you're right...even a short comment is always nice to hear! So...I am going to go through my pages of favorite photos and leave a comment on each photo. If I like them enough to put them in my favorites, then I dang well should be leaving that person a comment on what I like about their cake! If we all did that...the cake world would be a much happier place!!! Let's change our ways, everybody!!

I have been posting more and more on pix. I have thoghnt about if we were counted on them we (those who post on pic) would be in the hundreds by now.

I just went through and commented on a bunch!!

I have a fast connection but a lot of times this site is still slow. Especially when I am trying to leave a photo comment. Maybe people are just sick of that & don't bother leaving one. If there is a cake/cookie i really love or impresses me I will take the time to leave one. I am sure it will pick up again.

I have to tell you the old system I was lucky to give two comments in a week it was so slow.

Now with the new system it flys. I leave at least two comments in a day.

With how fast the photos are flying thru the home page, at the end of every night, I go to "galleries", then click the tab "Last Uploads" to see all the photos that were posted today. A great way to catch up on the great cakes you may have missed.
