You can't buy them online anywhere. But you can call and order them from Arlene, her and her dh, have AWESOME customer service and she ships amazingly fast. She does take credit cards now, too.

This is their website. Earlene's Cakes also have them for sale.

Just to clarify- you can't buy them from Earlene. She has Arlene's information posted on her website, but you still have to contact Arlene at Cakes Inc to purchase them. Earlene does not sell them.

I called twice last week and left messages just that I'd called to place an order. Arlene called me from out of town to let me know she'd call me when she got home from a cake show this week. I'm not at all surprised as I'd heard from so many that she was nice as can be to deal with. I can't wait to get that call!!

I have the stress free support system and luv it. That and my Agbay are my baking best freinds. But has anyone seen the inexpensive systems from www.cakesupport.com? If anyone has these I would appreciate some feedback. I am doing my neice's wedding cake in late September in Seattle and thought these would be great to use.

These sound great! I always am so nervous about doweling my cake. My first wedding cake is on Friday. I wish I would have known about this sooner icon_wink.gif

Tiny Dancer, I've been sick for several months and am just getting myself back together. Later this week I am going to order some and when I use them I will let you know how they work.

Hey, Arlene called me yesterday and I finally ordered me stress free cake supports! She helped me decide what size legs to get and was so nice and friendly I felt like I'd known her forever. I ought to get them in a few days and I'm excited. I also decided to order two of their acrylic cake plates. The 12" and 16 " ones so I'll have nice white sturdy cake bases for my big ones.

Arlene's acrylic cake plates are soo nice! They are 1/4" thick and a beautiful white. I used the 16" one for the big 14" cake I made for a baby shower last weekend. I will be getting more I'm sure. I got the 10" and 16" when I got my stress free system. Just thought I'd post a quickie about them.
Have a great day,
Carol

krojano, same price. Cakesupport.com is the site for the stress free system and is put on the internet by the inventor of the system. She has a patent for it. Earlene's site recommends it because Earlene uses it, but you can't purchase it from Earlene or anyone else.

Also, there are different kits available. The starter set is $130, the large set is $175, and the professional set is $220. There are also additional accessories you can purchase.

I bought the starter set, which has 4,6,8,10 and 12" rings for $130. That will accomodate up to a 14" cake, I believe. 16" is the biggest base I've done thus far. You have to choose one size legs (20 legs) for your system but can order other sizes. She suggested I get the 4" legs since they can be extended 3/4". I also got two sets of 6" legs so I can do a tiered cake with two seperations for flowers. I LOVE her lavender and white square cake that's pictured of her site. I hope to make a practice cake next week and use my new stuff. I can't say enough about the white acrylic plates.

Even though I'm not swamped with orders like many of you seem to be I am excited about having this and the ease with which they work. I know there are other systems out there but I like the stainless steel and sturdy acrylic legs that are so easily adjustable.

Eventually, if I ever start getting orders and get paid, I'm hoping to work up to tiered cakes and I'll definitely invest in this system, but til then........the expense for me is just not worth it.

So how long did it take to get your set? My daughters wedding is June 2nd and ever though I don't do many tiered cakes this looks like it would be less of a hassle to use then cutting dowels or using straws. 130 bucks to me is cheap if it eases anxiety. Plus my daughters cakes will be 14,12,10,8 and 6. My cakes are so dang heavy when you add the pudding to it that I am always afraid it will break. Plus that is only 4 hours of work for me in my real job....I would starve to death if I did cakes for a living...too slow, not enough imagination and no commercial kitchen.... So once again...How long did it take to ship it to you once you ordered it?

sundine2, I ordered mine Tuesday, May 1st, and got it that Friday morning. She ships Priority Mail. You might want to consider getting one of their white acrylic cake plates. They're 1/4" thick and very nice. I got the 16" to use with my 14" cakes. As soon as I have an order for something bigger I'll get a bigger one. I don't want to mess with cardboard for heavy cakes again after using this acrylic one last weekend.

Thanks for the info. I did buy a 16 inch or 18 inch round board..not cardboard to put the cake on. I know it will be heavy. Shoot just the cake I made for my daughters shower seemed to weigh a ton. Kept thinking as I made my way to the dining room last night..."Lord don't let me drop this"....but I didn't...
I will order one tomorrow. My husband keeps telling me it would be cheaper to have someone ( Indydeb) do it then me doing it and buying all these toys....but then again...he has his Harley and cigars...me..cakes...and cake goodies...and cake toys...and well more cake thingys...and conventions, meetings and various sundries.... icon_lol.gif

sundine2, You know what? I spent the first six years of my going on 38 yr marriage hearing my farmer dh (we don't farm anymore, he's a pilot now) say "you have to spend $ to make $". He's had the bulldozer he always wanted (it's gone now), got the antique airplane of his dreams (still have that and I love it) done this, done that, and what am I doing about my dreams? Heck, nothin! I was too busy raising his children, taking care of everyone, a house, a farm, working outside the home, etc etc (I must be wonderwoman! LOL) so I never had time to figure out what my dream was. That's what I told him once when we had a serious discussion along these lines. All that to say..... I'm spending a little $ to make $. I got the supports, a bigger KA, some nice sturdy, attractive cake plates, and I'll "play" with them all a lot more often than we get out the airplane (we have a grass runway here) or he ever used that stupid dozer.......lol. Since he never made one red cent with that dozer he won't go there. I'm not a wild spender, but I am tired of procrastinating about some things so I'm stepping out in faith and setting the ball in motion. I'll see where it takes me. I love doing anniversary cakes, not wild about weddings. I'll stop to breathe now......... Ü

I ordered just the smalled two rings (4" and 6"), and they worked GREAT! So far I've only stacked 6", 8", and 9" cakes on top of 10" or 12", so these two are perfect for that.

I traveled 3 hours with a cake this weekend, and though I was nervous using this system for the first time, the cake made the trip in perfect condition!

Over time I'll order the larger rings for when I do bigger cakes!

CarolAnn,

I learned a long time ago to take care of myself. I was a single mom for several yrs and then put myself through Nursing school ( over 20 yrs ago now). My job gives me the money and the time to do cakes...and to spend the money for those cake toys...so cake support system...here I come...lol

I'm considering purchasing the stress free support system.....but have a question. I understand how it works, each level has a cake on their own plate, etc., but that means there's no dowel running through the entire cake to keep it from 'shifting'....right? I assume you use this sytem to assemble on site, not for pre-assembled deliveries? Am I making sense?

I deliver assembeled all the time! The key is "gluing" the cake board to the ring with royal icing. Give it time to set up before moving. This works so well that after the layer of cake is gone. You simply pull the board up and the ring comes with is. Then you have to break the two apart.
