I got the directions from Nicholas Lodge, but they are copyright, so I will try to explain as best as I can without using their photos.

1. Make the wisteria bud on a piece of florist wire wrapped with green tape. Wrape the tape around the top a few times to give the paste something to hold to. Brush the wire with a little egg white and mold a small cone shape with the paste. Using a veining tool, make a line down one side of the bud.

2. For the second stage of the flower I used the fmm rose petal cutter set. I cut a petal with the smallest cutter and softened it using a softening tool. Next, I cut about 2/3 of the way down the curved side, not the point. Then, I attatched it to the base of the bud with the pointed end facing down. You kind of shape it into a taco shell look.

3. The third stage of the flower uses the second smallest cutter. It is softened and then attatched to the back of the second stage.

It's hard for me to explain things, so I'll post a picture of some of the wisteria here. It's really easy to make, it just takes a while to get all of them made and then put together.

So, they're kind of like tiny sweet peas, with the center thingy surrounded by a more open petal...and then several of them wired together?? Am I understanding you?

Thanks for sharing....they'r e just lovely.

Yeah, they're like tiny sweet peas! That's exactly what the lady at the Sugar Art Collection (Nicholas Lodge's shoppe) said when I asked them if they had a wisteria cutter. I'm still rather new to all the gumpaste flowers and how to make them, so I'm sure you're right.
