Until recently I have had lots of pound cake trouble and a lot of it is because of my oven. With it's temperament I can't change the temp. I made one yesterday and it was ALMOST perfect. Unfortunately there was one part that was a bit moist for a pound cake (maybe a little underdone) but if I would have cooked it any longer it would have burnt. Any ideas on the best temp. to cook a pound cake with out having to change it?
TIA!
Crystal

Have you tried using bake even strips around your pan or reducing your oven temperature by like 10 degrees? If you have a fussy oven sometimes this will help to get even baking on your cakes.

I don't use the strips (mostly because I don't have them) but I have dropped my temp to 300^
