This is for those who have ordered from National Flavors. Are they any good? They have so many choices that look great but I am wondering about quality. I just got some imitation butter flavor from Sysco and it was the most awful thing I tasted. I really want some high-end flavors.

Thanks,

Malissa

I started buying from National Flavors last summer and I have been happy with my purchases.

I have:
pure vanilla extract
pure almond extract
pure almond emulsion
butavan (butter/vanilla combo)
Vanilla Butter Nut (taste like coconut to me)
amaretto (love this one)
cotton candy -clear (good) I bought this extract from somewhere and it didn't even come close to smelling or tasting like cotton candy.
creme bouquet
Baker's Compliment (sample- I haven't used this and don't know what I would use it in)

I just received my first purchase this week from them and I love everything in it. The shipping was very quick ( 4 days) !! I ordered the following:
Creme Bouquet
Princess Cake and Cookie Flavor
Baker's Compliment
Sweet Dough Flavor
Pure Vanilla Extract
Just in case you didn't know if you spend $45.00 with them your shipping is free. I think they will become my major source for buying my flavorings.

Suzie757,

Please let me know what the Princess Cake and Cookie Flavor is like. What do you plan on using the Baker's Compliment for? I thought it had a strange scent to it.

When I posted the extracts/flavors I had bought from National Flavors I mentioned the cotton candy. I reread my post and it isn't clear. I like the cotton candy from National but I had bought another brand of cotton candy that I wasn't happy with.

DarkChocolate,
The Princess Cake Flavor is similiar to Creme Bouquet but maybe a little more sweeter smelling. I know someone else on here said they like this better than Creme' Bouquet . I will be putting it to the test this weekend.
As for the Baker's Compliment I don't quite know yet. I was like a kid in a candy store when I ordered !!!! I will say the Sweet Dough flavor is great if you make Cinnamon Rolls or anything along that line.
How is the Butter/Vanilla Combo from them ? I just love that we can help icon_smile.gif each other out on this site !!!!

I ordered from National before their website was up and running. I spoke with the people in customer service who were great to work with.

Here are some prices I have, just to give you an idea.

Pure Vanilla Extract #10 $24.55 quart
Creme Bouquet #921 $6.65 quart
Pure Almond Flavor #64 $7.25 quart/$20.25 gallon
Butavan #97 $8.65 quart/$25.90 gallon
Vanilla Butter Nut $12.75 quart
Pure Lemon Emulsion $4.65 quart
Kahlua #354 $12.60 quart

Some of the other extract/flavors I have were samples, so I don't have a cost.

Let me add that the Princess Cake and Cookie Flavor has a nutty undertone also where I think the Creme Bouquet does not.

The Butavan (vanilla/butter) is sweet to me, but I don't detect a butter taste, but that just may be me. I am a pure almond extract fan and for instance my daughter doesn't care for almond flavoring very much. After reading different post on this site people have preferences to different brands out there. I have nothing to compare my Butavan to. I have read good things about Magic Line's brand of Butavan. I got mine as a sample, so I didn't lose anything.

I have a thought or suggestion. Would those of you who happen to call National Flavors be willing to post the cost of the items you inquire about? National Flavors will send you a brochure with your order. I got my brochure out to offer the prices I had noted in my brochure. That way we could have an idea what the item will cost if we are interested at some point.

Thanks!

I can't seem to find #97 Butavan on the National Flavors website. Where is it listed?

I was given #97 when I called and talked with customer service because I couldn't find it in my brochure. I am not sure why it isn't listed.
