I'm in the process of converting my garage into a second kitchen and have been looking for a reasonably priced commercial freezer. In my state, all equipment has to be commercial grade - but I haven't been able to find one for under $1,200. I happened to look at Lowe's website online and found a cheap freezer (under $500 for 21 cu. ft.). I figured I'd buy one of these and use it until I could afford the better one - and until I was ready for inspection. I was really disappointed that I had to settle... until I happened to scroll down and see that this freezer had a UL rating for commercial use. YAY!!!

If anyone else is looking for a commercial freezer, check out this one at Lowe's:

BTW, they give 10% off to military families. They weren't going to give me that 10% off at first since this was a special order, but I told them their website is misleading (that the store has it in stock) and they're going to give it to me anyway. Perhaps your local store has them in stock though...

looks like a good buy. I just bought the arctic air fridge and freezer, 1200 a piece. What you may have to do if you use these in your 2nd kitchen is put them on castors, as equipment and cabinets must be off the floor 6", ive just converted my garage, and passed inspection last week. so if you need any info let me know.

I just went to Lowe's and bought two of the freezers... they're offering free delivery on applicanes (by rebate), so I figured "why not". Now I just have to make room for them. icon_biggrin.gif

I bought one of those at Lowes 2 yrs ago and paid $499 then. I had 2 artic air and they were always in the shop, big waste and they were still under warranty. We lost a great deal of product when they went down.

Fridgidaire is still going strong.

Figured I couldn't possibly be the ONLY one looking for one...

Now if only someone could tell me how I can get a DeLuxe (full sheet) convection oven for less than $3,700 - I'm all ears. icon_biggrin.gif
