I just made some Monkey Bread. It was so easy and tastes simply DELISH!!! Hubby woke up from his nap just to have some! lol I was thinking that this would be great for family get togethers, birthdays or even baby showers. It's fun because you can just pick it apart!
Here's the recipe if anyone wants it ![]()
MONKEY BREAD
3 cans of buttermilk biscuit (10 biscuits in each can)
1 cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
Take 3 cans of buttermilk biscuits and cut each biscuit into 4 pieces. Drop biscuit pieces into 1 cup sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Drop sugar coated pieces into a well buttered bundt pan (don't squish biscuit pieces when placing them in the bundt pan).
Put the left over sugar/cinnamon mix and 1/2 cup packed brown sugar and 1 cup of butter (2 sticks) into small sauce pan.
Bring this mixture just to a boil, take off heat right away. Carefully drizzle over the roll pieces.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min.
Cool slightly in an upright position, then tip pan over onto a plate to remove monkey pull-apart bread.
Hope y'all like it as much as I do!
Can you make it in a different pan? I don't have a bundt pan.
I don't see why not. But of course you won't have as many of the pieces covered with the syrup that you drizzle. However, you could just dip the pieces that come out without syrup in the stuff that oozes around the bottom ![]()
This stuff is so good, no matter what pan you make it in! lol I've made it in a bundt pan, round cake pan, square pan, etc. the caramelized sugar/cinnamon always puddles a little bit...good for dipping. Thanks, susanrcp! ![]()
I'll have to make this again before the weather warms up! ![]()
Yes, this one has been around for many years. But it is one of the most delicious "sins" around! Love it!
Susanrcp...
The Monkey Bread looks yummy!
I love the monkey cake stand you used, that's a very cute idea.
Thank you for all the comments on my Monkey Cake stand lol However, I wish it actually were a Monkey Cake stand. It's a regular cake stand with my little "See no evil, Hear no evil, Speak no evil" figurine sitting in front of it. I thought it would go well with the Monkey Bread ![]()
I'll have to try your Gorilla Bread! Sounds yummy ![]()
I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's grrrrrrrrrrreat! ![]()
Of all the things we decorators make & we're going nuts over monkey bread! I'm in!!! ![]()
Talk about simple & finger lickn' yummy!!!!
I add pecans to mine. I usually bake 2, one for us & one for the party!
Ohhh it is so delicious!!!
Of all the things we decorators make & we're going nuts over monkey bread!
Just goes to show that sometimes the best things in life are the simplest things in life ![]()
I made the Marths Stewart version which uses a yeast based dough and later drizzled wtih a sugar glaze. It was also super easy and far too good....too dangerous to make often!!! ![]()
Gosh...that looks so yummy, can't wait to try both recipes.
Thanks so much ![]()
Ok, I caved! I made Monkey Bread today for the first time in my life.
When I was flipping the bundt pan over, my plate slipped, part of the Monkey Bread fell off the plate and the gooey stuff dripped in places it shouldn't have....
Oh! I couldn't let it go to waste, the counter was clean, soooo, let's just say, it was the tastiest clean-up ever! lol
Thanks for sharing this recipe!
Happy New Year!!!!
I made Monkey Bread tonight. It is so good. I can't believe I have never heard of it before.
Wow this sounds great I have to try it.
Question - What type of sugar. Regular or powered?
Regular Sugar
Sorry took so long to reply. I was out shopping for more Cake Decorating Supplies!!!! lol Seems that's all I ever do any more ![]()
