Okay, so I'm excited about a book! Does anyone else have this book? Okay, so what' the title?

It's Creative Cookies by Toba Garrett

I just finished reading the whole thing and I already use some of the techniques she describes. In fact, I used the brush embroidery technique and similiar design on my cookies for the cake show earlier this year.

I highly recommend this book. She makes things seem so simple and there are a lot of "duh, why didn't I think of that" techniques in it as well.

I'm just so excited about this book I thought I'd share it. It's under $13.00 btw!!! I found it at B&N.

Now the cookie experts on here like Antonia74 and others needn't bother with it because you can't perfect on what they already do! This is for those of us who aspire to be that good!

I just finished cookies using Toba Garrett's glace' icing. I love that stuff. I'm getting ready to post the pictures of yet more pumpkin cookies. I wasn't going since there are so many halloween cookies but when you're new at this stuff, it's exciting. dunce.gif

I got the Creative Cookies by Toba Garrett book from the library and I think I'm going to buy it just for reference. You can purchase the book from www.overstock.com for $8.87 + $1.40 for shipping. (great deal icon_wink.gif )

I bought the book too and think it's great. The way things are described makes it easy to follow. I looked at several different and choose this one and was not disappointed. Wow, I never thought to look at overstock for books. I had a cert. for amazon so I just used it there. I HATE that the book stores near me, and libraries, don't have ANYTHING in cake decorating. I have to soley depend on internet and hate not being able to "look" before I buy.

You all just talked me into ordering it from amazon. I had a couple other things on my list so I got free shipping. I have it to. I agree, things are EXPLAINED. You really don't have to guess much like you sometimes find in others books. The recipes are pretty good too.
