It arrived on Good Friday and I have finally had a chance to put it to good use today. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! The deep bowl makes a HUGE difference.

Thanks for everyone for your input while I was researching it. And thanks to Jen the moderator for all of the extra special attention you gave me!

Have you or anyone else tried it with bread dough yet? I was just wondering how it handled with bread dough. I mostly do cakes but love making bread for baskets I do. My KA is just not cutting it...I think it needs to be retired, way too overworked! icon_smile.gif

I make bread with it. It works. That's what I bough it for 3 years ago. I researched for a year for a mixer that could take it (without getting a huge Hobart).

I was afraid at the beginning and I would let it rest in between mixing, 10 min mixing, 5 min rest...but then one day I just went all the way.

And then I got into cakes. Now I mix cakes with it, too.

I find it works better than the KitchenAid for sure. It can withstand my abuse of batches of royal icing with minimal fuss. HOWEVER, I cannot for the life of me stand the bowl! It's so freaking narrow! And the parts that aren't covered make the clean up of anything a nightmare.

Anyone know how to get the crud out of that vent area in the back under the hood?

I love the narrow bowl! Once a week I go to my aunt's house and she doesn't have a mixer. Just in case I ever need to bake there, I got the 5 qt to keep at her house, which doesn't have a narrow bowl. I've mixed a few times with that other one, and I find that I miss my narrow bowl.

Are you talking about the area right on top of the bowl, near where you connect the hook? I think that's the only place where I've seen a vent. I don't have much in there because when I put in flour or powders, I do it at low speed, plus the machine starts slow even when you are on a high speed?

Unless it's another area that I haven't seen?
