Here is how my hubby made a cupcake board for me.

Directions:
Cut holes in a shallow box. Size depends on the cupcakes. Cover with foil. Cut an x in the foil where the cupcake will fit. Fold foil in and under to make holes. This box is 30" x 16". Perfect for 24 cupcakes.

Great idea. You could do this out of foam core and cut it to fit pastry boxes.
