Hello cookie makers!

As the first poster of the August theme JGMB got to choose for the month of September. The September 2010 Cookie Club theme is"toys and games" (but NOT sports) That means that ANY cookies you make related to that theme fits but leave out the sports themed creations for this month. Have fun creating!!!

Just to refresh your memory (and for any new members), here are the "guidelines" for the cookie club posts (based on Cake_Princess' original post from a few years ago):

*Anyone can join us any month they choose! We love to have new members! This isnt a contest, just a way to share ideas, be creative, and learn new things related to cookies!!

* The group consensus was that all pictures must be new pictures (and new cookies). Meaning if you have a previous pictures of cookies already in your album (or in the forum) even if it depicts the theme, please do not use them for your entry in the cookie club. The idea of the monthly theme is to get our creative juices/new ideas flowing.

* Please post pictures in this thread (Do not create a separate thread for your pictures).

* Please wait to post monthly theme cookies to your personal album/ cookie Gallery until after the monthly theme has expired (the end of the month). I know you are anxious for everyone to see your cookies in your album, but keeping the monthly theme creations in only the thread for the entire month helps to increase traffic to the cookie club thread, which will help to keep it going and hopefully get more people interested in taking part. When the month is over, please feel free to post as many pictures as you wish to the galleries. We do love to see pictures!!

* Feel free to use any edible medium to decorate your cookies - fondant, royal icing, butter cream etc. The only stipulation is it has to be a medium used in cookie or cake decorating (so no play-doh!). In your post, please let us know about your creation the type of cookie, the medium you used to decorate your cookies, any techniques that you used, etc.

* The purpose of choosing a monthly theme is to have a central theme for everyone participating to follow in order to allow us an opportunity to be creative, try new things, and learn from each other. Please try to follow the monthly theme. If the design choice is not obvious, please let us know why you chose the design you did (for example, if the theme was Music and you made ghost cookies then let us know the connection. Ghost = Phantom and Phantom of the opera > music).

* The theme is chosen at the beginning of each month by the first person to post a picture the previous month. That person should PM Bonniebakes with your theme choice before the month is over so that the new thread can be started on the 1st of the month (or within a day or two from the 1st).

Happy Baking, everyone! I cant wait to see the results!!

Let's just hope they get the site fixed so that we can upload photos again. I'm still waiting to see bobwonderbuns' August entry!

I don't know if it'll help but, last night after repeated tries to get my royal icing orchid posted, I went back and changed the title and used all lower case letters and removed any characters "" from the description and it worked.

or a dinosaur (like in Toy Story) or the little green Army men or a yo-yo...

I don't even have my dough made up and here it is already into the second quarter of the month!

I need to motivate myself...

WOW - I'm the first one to post this month??? I didn't want to post first, since I wasn't sure that would be fair since I knew the theme before anyone else. But I didn't think of this until 2 days ago and happened to be making cookies anyway, and it is almost the middle of the month, so I hope it's OK...

Here goes...

darn- it's not working! UGH!

If you upload it to another site (if you have one). Then, right click on the image, click on properties, copy and paste the url of the image into your post....highlight the url within your post and click on the img button. Then, submit....

Boy, I sure hope they get the site fixed soon! I realize that it's something I enjoy for free, so I really have no right to complain . . . But, I used to check the "forums posted since last visit" a few times a day, and now it says "no topics fit that criteria" even if I haven't been on CC for a few days. I miss it!

I'm also anxious to see bonniecakes' and others' cookies!!

trying again... oops.. no luck uploading to this thread!

But, I decided to try uploading it to my pictures and it worked. Here's the link: http://cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1803402

I know the rules say that we shouldn't upload to our photos until after the month is over, and I'll happily take it off if that's what everyone wants me to do. But I propose that until this glitch is fixed, if we can't upload to the thread, we upload to our photos and then post a link here in this thread. does that sound OK to everyone? Or should I remove it now and just keep trying to post it in the thread?

I love, love, love them! Especially the little playing pieces -- they're precious!

I agree that we need to do whatever's necessary until the glitch is fixed. I'm just glad you found a way to show us your cookies.

I'm glad someone finally posted and that others are thinking about it. I was afraid that people thought my topic choice was lame!!! Of course, I haven't even made my cookie yet -- I guess it's just a busy month for everyone. icon_wink.gif

whew! I'm glad people aren't upset at the way I posted - I was worried people would think I was adjusting rules just for my own benefit!

Bob, your Gilda cookies from last month's theme are great, also. Love Gilda!

You want to hear a funny story? When I was little I decided I was going to be an entrepreneur. We lived on a court at the time and I took my big purple bike with the garish flowered banana seat (remember those?) icon_lol.gif and took my little dudes from Candyland and set them up on the "counter" (the banana seat) and sat there all day long wondering why people weren't A) lining up to buy my goods and B) why stock boys weren't running to help me out like they did in the "big" stores. icon_biggrin.gif I did get a lot of looks from the neighbors though... icon_lol.gif Funny, I haven't thought about that in years!! icon_rolleyes.gificon_lol.gif
