OK...What is self rising cake flour? Is that just normal cake flour or something different? Can I buy this at a normal store and if not....can I make a substitute somehow?? I have to make this cake tomorrow that is egg less and it calls for self rising cake flour. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Self-rising flour is all purpose flour with added salt and baking powder. Here's a link on how to make your own self-rising flour. http://southernfood.about.com/cs/breads/ht/self_rise_flour.htm.

Hope that helps icon_smile.gif

I don't understand why it says "cake" in it then. Is it just the self rising flour you buy in the store by like Pillsubury for instance?

you would use cake flour instead of all purpose or use white lily flour and add the requisite ingredients

The cake turned out pretty good. It had to be eggless due to allergies, so never making an eggless cake before....tasted and looked good. Glad I don't have to make many of those b/c cakes with eggs....so much better! Thanks again for the help!
