If they are 2D, you could get a palm tree cookie cutter!

You could cut them freehand or make a template out of paper and cut them with an X-acto knife.

I've used the Wilton leaf cutter with notches cut out and it's worked pretty well.

These are the one's I used, bought them at Michael's but I think I've seen them at Joann's too, possibly even Walmart. I just used 50/50 fondant and gumpaste then let them dry in my curved flower former and attached with candy melts(sets up waaay faster/sturdier than gum glue or water) http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=130A4413-475A-BAC0-5D9253E3958FC1A5&killnav=1

Ditto on that...very cute cake. In addition to the leaves, I love how you did the trunk of the tree..

I took one of the Wilton craft dowels, the kind for support for stacking cakes and cut it the length I needed, then I just used the smallest circle cutter I had, Wilton again, started at eh bottom and kept adding circles. Ridiculously easy actually! I used candy melts dabbed on with a tooth pick to secure them as I worked then used the candy melts to attach the (now dried) leaves on top. For my side trees I just rolled a sausage of brown fondant and attached it to the side with a few tiny dots of candy melts then added the leaves on top. I loved this cake, It was a lot of fun and pretty easy to do.
