I have seen many postings where people have asked where you can find food-safe flower pots to bake in. Here is a breakdown of what I have found if it helps anyone:

1) Regarding unglazed pots at Micheals, Hobby Lobby, Hone Depot, you run the risk of lead being in the terracotta pot. If you can trace down the supplier and ask them directly if they are food-safe, you are all set. :0) Same thing with glazed pots.

2) Another option is that you can buy those unglazed pots and take them to a pottery person who has access to a kiln. If they use a food-safe glaze and fire it in a kiln, you can use those from the places listed above. I was told that this option is not cheap though.

3) I found a supplier of non-glazed, non-lead food-safe pots. They are a company that sells mixes to go with the pots, but I asked and they will sell the pots separately. You just need to call if you are interested.
The larger pots (the one they do bread in) are 4 ½ tall by 5 ¼ wide at the top diameter. They are $5.50 each w/o shipping. Here is a link to a small pic:

The muffin pot size is 2 ¼ tall by 2 ¼ wide at the top diameter. They are $1.50 each w/o shipping.

4) There are cute little silicone ones at Micheal's as part of their Mary Engelbreit baking collection. We used them and they worked well. They are not cheap, but the Michael's coupon helped.

Hope this helps those who have been looking! icon_smile.gif

Thanks! I was starting to wonder if I should have done it as it seemed that nobody seemed interested. Actually, I don't even need the info myself. icon_lol.gif I just saw so many trying to figure it out to no avail. Thanks for your notes! Much appreciated! icon_smile.gif
