My DH wants to get me an airbrush for my birthday (woohoo!!) and he is looking at the Master airbrush brand model G22 it is $139.98 and comes with 12- 4.5oz Americolor colors. Does anyone have this or is there a better system? TIA!!! I'm so excited but don't want to jump at the first thing.

I would like to know also..... and do they or do they not come with a air compresser?

This one comes with the compresser and is supose to be complete as far as I can see but I don't know much about them thats why I need some direction.

I purchased the TC-20T model, from tcpglobal. I wanted a food grade aircompressor and it is oil-less and non-pulsating with air on demand. It is super lite, and really quiet.

My compressor came as a bundle, with 24 amerimists, and a bonus 12 amerimist pearl sheen kit, two air brushes, dual connector, 4 compartment holder for 4 airbrushes, and a cake decorating DVD.

I bought the model you posted, the G22, for the same advertised price. I like it for most of what I do, but I'm having trouble getting the fine lines that I can get with the one we use at work.

Smaller machines can have a less reliable/less constant airflow in my experience and can overheat with prolonged use- neither are huge issues for occasional use though in my opinion. If you want to use a thicker medium though like say coloured cocoa butter, you will need a compressor with a higher output pressure.

I got this airbrush machine and honestly I'm not a fan. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong but the colour doesn't spray out properly and sometimes it leaks.

it's not size that matters it's the psi, you want. and what you need is non-pulsating air to prevent sputtering and splotching. the thicker the medium the more psi you need. BUT remember the most important thing, your air brush needles must be able to handle the material too. i have five air brush guns that i use. you cant get sheen through a small gauge needle, you must have the right sized needle.

sweetshops, i looked at the system you linked, the biggest problem i see is siphon feed and i didn't see if it used pulsating air, or air on demand. i personally don't care for siphon because of the problems you listed are common with them.

sorry i'm late in replying. hope this helps some. also if you want fine lines, thin your marerial with a little everclear and practice using a fine needle to get that perfect thin line. remember to drop your psi down for thin materials, try a line, then adjust down and try again. thats what i had to do. keep a note book nearby for what gun, needle, and psi for each medium. i personally do better with a toggle switch gun for fine lines and detail work and a trigger gun for filling in and broad-strokes.

airbrish rule #1 practice practice practice :) # 2 make sure psi is adjusted for your material needs... how? you practiced so you know. :) # 3 make sure you have the right air gun and needle gauge... how? you practiced.... so you know :) # 4 if none of the above works, rinse and repeat rules 1-3 again. :)

Is the TC-20 still the best bet for cake decorating ?   Ive had the same airbrush for almost 27 yrs and the same compressor for 20 yrs and I bought that used.  lol  I am looking to update.  Thanks so much

years later and i still love my TC-20T. not had a single problem with the machine, now air brushing skill.. well thats always an on going practice. lol As i said in previous posts, if you call tcpglobal they are awesome and semed to know the right product based on my needs. i love my airbrush!!

I am looking at airbrush systems as well.  I keep clicking on the link and it takes me to a website but I can't find the airbrush you are referring to.  Do you know if they still carry it?  Maybe I am missing part of the name. Thanks

Hi everybody, I'm trying to buy an airbrush kit too but I'm so confused. I have no experience with that but I am opening a little business and all this info are very helpful. Can anyone tell me if the TC-20T still the best on the market? How about the kits, which one is the best? All the kits that I found online have the G22. Is that really bad? Will be better if I buy it all separated?
