can you be a little more specific? what part is giving you trouble?
the part Im struggling with is all the cakes are the same size then you cut the sprial so how do you get the other side of the road??? Cake is Lghting Mcqueen going up the road/mountain.
I'm still not really clear, but here goes....
My cake was a 6" tier (2 layers) and an 8" tier (also 2 layers). I baked an extra layer for each tier to make the road. I started cutting the road out of the 6" tier, then when the road would taper out of the tier (or spiral outward from the tier), add the 6" 3rd layer and continue cutting the road (spiral). Taper downward, and when you get to the bottom of that layer of cake, set the whole thing on top of the 8" tier, Continue cutting/tapering the spiral, and when the road tapers out of the tier (or spirals outward from the tier), add the 8" 3rd layer and keep going. You will be discarding big hunks of the 3rd layers and will keep the crescent moon-shaped pieces that are part of the road/spiral. Attach these extra pieces with buttercream.
Hope this helps!
