I contacted Wilton, and they didn't have instructions, and I also contacted the person that made this, and I have not yet heard back. So...since she may be unable to get back to me, I will ask you guys.

Does anybody have the instructions for this Mickey Mouse cake? I know how to do the head, I am just not sure on the hands.

It's hard to tell since the pic is so small, but it kinda looks like the hands are flat, 2D, not 3D. Like, cut flat pieces out of rolled out gumpaste/fondant then outline with black.

I agree, the hands look flat...paper, or gumpaste.

I agree with the above comments. I'm guessing the arms are fondant covered heavy gauge wire?

But how do you do the head? I haven't seen this style of Mickey before - it's really cute - but I don't know how the head is done to look so professional. This is a great cake design.

The head still looks flatter than a ball. Looks like stacked balls of gumpaste... but flatter than 3D... does that make any sense? Have you seen those suckers or Christmas candy canes with like a bear hugging it made out of frosting?

Or like stacking cookies... they are round and thick. Gosh... Maybe I'd better rethink how to describe it.

I'd make a flat black gumpaste ball (think cookie) and add similar ears. Then make the gumpaste face part, the make the eyes, then the nose and tongue... then I'd just start gluing them on top of each other.
