4them - I know you want experience and I totally understand, but I would suggest you try a local High School or college - arts departments -explain you need exceptionally talented, motivated, quick learning help and see if they can help you out in any way.
I live in College Station, TX - our local school has programs that place students in internships! You just might find someone who has a knack and can help you out. I hope it works out for you too. I must say, I am envious, but I know, everything happens when it is supposed to. |

Thanks everyone... I live in Saint Joseph 45 minutes north of kansas city,
30 minutes from falls city nebraska, hour and a half south of council bluff, iowa and omaha, neb.
There is several colleges here and plenty of willing high schoolers 2 of my own, but I literally can't train right now and dependability is a concern. |

Wow!!! Your shop looks awesome and cograts on all the success of it already. It's especially wonderful that you have no loans going into it- you have to be commended on that effort. I wish that I could be there to help you!!! I hope that help will be on the way. |

Praise the LORD! Congrats on your shoppe!!!!!!!
My sister and I are in the process of opening our own shoppe too! We also used our own money. Saved up the loot over the course of 6 years! We come from a family where we have always owned our own businesses(Dad owns restaurant, had liquor store for 17 years, a convenience store for 5) so we were fortunate to know the in's and out's of the biz. There is nothing easy about it, but if you love working with people and being the commander of your career and finances, this is the way to go.
You will be okay, get you another body in there as soon as you can and just know this is your baby so ALWAYS stay on top of her!
Delish, you go girl! |

Hi everybody-- all is well
The update is we are so full every week, we are doing between 40-60 cakes a week nearly 1000 cupcakes, cookies galore and a ton of pasties.
I am going to take the time to do a proper update soon, I promise. We are going to expand and move the summer of 2011 but I do have some newer pics of the shop to upload I gotta search for them.
We also had custom bags and boxes and labels made for the shop I will try to put pics in the update. Thanks |
