I got the cutters from global sugar art. I tried to make this tutorial in one thread, but apparently I am high-tech challenged and couldn't get all the pictures to fit in one, so look for the beginning in PEONY TUTORIAL part 1!
Sorry about that! I wish I knew my way around the computer as I do around cakes!
Thanks so much for the tutorial. Great job and what a beautiful flower. Peony is my fav! I will have to try this! Dont' worry,I'm sure we will be able to find Part I and Part II

What an awesome tutorial Sharon. Thanks so much for posting it!
For those of you looking for Part 1 of this tutorial here's the link:

Thanks again Sharon.
Thank you SO much!!
Is there a trick to get that effect with the scissors or do you just snip away?
Thanks again.
Thanks you so much! I have the cutters and have been trying to teach myself as I can't afford to invest in any of the books that have peonies in them! Mine keep coming out a little short and this fills in the missing links!
How awesome that you would share this!
Thank you VERY MUCH Sharon for taking the time to make the tutorial and share it with us! and another THANK YOU to whoever was taking the photos!
There is no art to the snipping of the stamen, just snip, snip away.
Sooooo... I originally made this as a mac version of power point and found I couldn't attach it here. The power point version is more complete and contains complete written instructions. If anyone knows of a way for me to attach that, please tell me how. IF not, you can also send me your email address and I can email the slide show to you as an attachment. It is much more informative and there are more pictures.
I am so glad that you are finding this helpful. I thought I should do it because I had the same problems when I wanted to learn to make one - there were no tutorials anywhere to be found and I have already spent SOOOOOO much money on cake stuff, I wasn't ready to spend more on a video or DVD yet. Thankfully, now I don't have to!
Do let me know if you have any questions!
I took the pictures myself too... that's the reason why some are a little blurry. But I figured you can still see through the blurriness. Just let me know if you want me to email the slide show to you! I tried sending it to myself and it worked, so hopefully it will work for everyone who wants it.
Ooh! And thanks to the ccer who posted the link to part 1! So glad you did that because I am a nincompoop when it comes to a lot of the computer stuff!
Thanks everyone!
Sharon
Hi Sharon....do you have a Flickr account? Lots of us cakers are flickr members too and you CAN upload a slideshow there!
Please let us know if you do, I would love to see your slideshow you have put together!
Hi Teakakes... I do have a flickr account! The free one. I'm at my maximum amount of pictures so I haven't put anything on there in a while. But I'll check to see if I can also add a slide show in addition to my maximum amount of pictures. I'll do that when I get home from running some errands! Thanks for that tip!
sharon, thank you for sharing form the bottom of my heart. Your flower looks beautiful
Ok.... so I was able to upload the tutorial as a movie on flickr, so it goes really fast. You have to press pause for each slide so it does't keep going to the end. Go here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tiersofjoy/3923502329/
I have also emailed the slide show to everyone who sent me their email addresses, so hopefully that will work.
I guess I need a class in computer applications! But thanks everyone, for bearing with me. And let me know if you have questions!
Best wishes,
Sharon
Fantastic Sharon!! It came through great for me at Flickr! Yes, you do have to press pause but that is no big deal! Thank you!
Thank you so much for your tutorial! I can't wait to try it out. For some reason, some of the photos didn't show up in the thread, but I checked out the slide show on flicker and that worked.
How nice of you to post the tutorial. I've got all the supplies and gumpaste ready to go - now to find the time to make these! I have the Nicholas Lodge video on peonies and your method is very similar, but I like your center much better than the one he does. He covers a small styrofoam ball with peony leaves but I like your little spiky center so I think I'll do that when I get around to making peonies.
Thank you!!
Julie
I got the slide show Sharon! You are so sweet to have gone to the effort of doing so. I can't wait to get started!
