HELP!!!!! I need rock candy for a cake I am making. It needs to look like ice. All the candy stores I've called don't have enough combined for what I need so I decided to make my own. I'm on my 3rd attempt and I'm about to give up. The first batch was too soft but it was clear. The second batch is hard enough but it is amber colored (it didn't make it to the suggested 310 degrees in the recipe). So what do I do????? Is there a way I can make my amber candy white looking? I need this by Friday night. HELP!!!! |

Do you or anyone out there have any suggestions of what to use other than rock candy that would look like ice? |

Use isomalt. It won't carmelize as fast as sugar and you can easliy cook it to 325. It pours very clear. Look on Amazon you can find it there. |

Thank you soooo much...going to get me some at the Cracker Barrel. Would it be on the shelf with coffees and such?

Not sure, DH runs many of my errands, and he gets it for me. I'm sure if you walk in and ask, they'll be happy to help you! |
