I forgot to put oil in my cake!!!!
It is an apricot cake. My special recipe and yes I doctored up a yellow cake mix. So I take it out of the oven....after it is baked. Turned out great!!! More like a scratch cake consistancy...crumbly.
BTW.the cake I make has a very sutle apricot taste...but I fill it with apricot preserve...so it brings out the taste.
Thanks for letting me share!!! |

i've read that people don't put the oil in the cake mixes. I haven't tried it yet though... the next time I run out of oil i'll have to try. :0) |

I use applesause instead of oil to my cake. No one can tell the difference but you don't feel so guilty when you're eating it.

I vary on my oil in cake mixes, sometimes none, sometime some - but usually non measured ' dash' - much less then they call for. People love the cakes (I seldom doctor them up other than less oil) and ask how come their's don't turn out the same. |
