I just bought this book from the grocery store called "Cut Up Party Cakes" by PIL Cookbooks. It has a dachshund cake in there. They use a 13 x 9 rectangular cake.

I have the same book and was also going to recommend it! It looks cute and very easy. If you can't find it I could scan it and e-mail it to you.

I would like to make a 3D dachshund cake for my sister's birthday in 4 weeks. I can't seem to locate the cake book that has been mentioned in the past on this forum here in Australia. Can anyone advise me on what they used for the body in terms of the cake tin and also I noticed that someone used (what we call here) rice bubbles for the head...what did you use to stick them together? If someone could email me details I would so very very much appreciate as I know my sister will be so excited to see a cake like this as she owns 2 dachshunds.
