I spoke with a bride today who is planning an extremely large wedding. I told her about the idea of putting three cakes on one table and each of those cakes being large tiered cakes. I know I've seen photos of cakes done this way, but this is the only one I could find (by ksmill) . Do you know where others may be?

http://www.weddingcakesbyjimsmeal.com/ does this a lot. I LOVE his style! icon_smile.gif You'll have to scroll through 6 pages of his wedding cakes to pick them out, but it's SO worth it if you like to drool. icon_lol.gif

I'd love to send you one, a large 4 tier square with two square 2 tiers on each side....but I'm waiting on the photographer's pics. I ALWAYS get my own and forgot....I am waiting on pins and needles myself.

There are links to wedding cakes with satellites and other arrangements (to serve 600) in this thread:

Thank you all. This has helped me tremendously.

BTW - bride wants cake to feed about 450 - 500, so we're doing a 6/8/10/12/14 in the center of the table and a 6/8/10/12 on each side. YAY FOR ME!!

Yeah! I'm addicted to huge cakes....I don't want to do anymore wedding cakes that aren't at least 6 tiers tall. icon_biggrin.gif

Bigger and more is always better. Now I suppose one cake isn't enough every one's going to want multiple cakes. Those Joneses sure are way up the ladder these days. Wow!

Yeah it does look grand!

Awesome icon_smile.gif I'd be all about serving 500. I'm lucky if I get 250 around here icon_smile.gif

Ain't it the truth! I met with them today and BTB told me that they have trimmed their guest list down to 550. Their caterer told them to expect that 80% will come. (how can I argue with that?? icon_wink.gif ) So we designed a cake to feed 468.

I tried to tell them that when you have a wedding at one church and a reception across town at another church, then you lose some people that way. Also, if the cake is not cut early in the reception, then some people will leave before it gets cut. They acted like they were aware of all that and still wanted the 468 servings.

So...what we settled on was a 5-tier in the middle, a 4-tier to the right, and a 4-tier to the left. I think I'll block off the whole weekend for them. This will certainly set a record for me (and probably for any other baker, past or present, in my county). I'm super excited! icon_biggrin.gif

How much would you charge for a multiple cake say 9 tiers for example? Can anyone from the UK tell me how much they would charge?
