How potent is this stuff? I live close to Indianapolis and don't know of anyone that carries it so I think I will order it off the internet. The primary color I need right now is red and black. Is the .75 oz bottle sufficient? How long does it usually last. I am not in the cookie business so my needs are not great for a large amount. Thanks!

Americolor colors are great! Red and black are the hardest colors to get with any but the best with this vendor I would buy 2 of each if your buying. I like the small bottles because they fit in my drawer.

Americolor is all I use because it is the best IMO as well as many others.
For Red and Black you will want to purchase the "Super Red" and the "Super Black".
If you do not use food color very often then the small bottles will be good for you. However, because it does take more red and black to get true tones, It might be good if you bought the larger bottles of these two colors. Just something to think about.

I LOVE the Americolor, I will never ever use Wilton color again! I would recommend it! Their Super Red and Super Black cannot be beat!

If you don't need a lot why don't you opt for buying your red and black. Satin Ice makes black and red and so does choco pan. If you want to start with a chocolate brown fondant you could add less black coloring if you are set on adding some color yourself.

But both companies sell the the fondant in smaller 2 or 5 lb. containers, I'm not sure which company sells which size.

I have never seen Americolor in Canada, is it a gel, or liquid?

OMG!! Americolor ROCKS!! I started up caking and cookie-ing again a few months ago. I'd taken Wilton classes years ago and thought Wilton was all there was. Then I read about Americolor. I have a small bottle of Super Red and I've made red several times with it. It only takes a few drops for small batches, seriously!

When we get back stateside, I will be replacing ALL my Wilton with Americolor!
