i think its VERY awesome... looks like popcorn to me... i think it looks VERY nice.. and rosettes take a while to get the hang of getting them all the same size and whatnot.. so just keep that in mind!
i think it looks VERY lovely..

Well just so ya'll know...I am self teaching myself (thinking about firing the teacher LOL and I had to make two batches of icing AND little did I know you need 5 1/2 cups of batter per 9 inch cake...so the cake is short. But husband called a little while ago...said I don't really care if it's the ugliest thing in the world...CAKE IS CAKE lol.he's ready to eat I guess. I tried to do the viva method on the icing..but what I need to know is..do you crumb coat in the same color you are icing the cake in and how long do you wait after you crumb coat do you ice the cake. Another question...How thick should your last layer of icing be? Please judge harshly if you have to and tell me what I am doing wrong, except for just being a newbie Thanks a lot in advance! |

I think your icing looks very smooth...especially for your first cake!! Yes, you can crumb coat with the same color you are using for the final icing...or you could just use white if you want to. Just remember to take some out and thin it down a little for the crumb coat. You are on an exciting road...buckle your seatbelt and hang on!!! |

I think you did a great job. Cake decorating is like many things in life, it takes practice. The more you do, the better you get!!! Don't fire the instructor!!! |
