As already mentioned, for food safety reasons, you shouldn't be swapping back and forth between standard inks which are toxic and edible inks. You should be using a printer dedicated only to printing ...

I covered it in fondant, actually two layers. I was able to cut one layer off and press in the black portion.

Aside from using an airbrush, I think that's how I'd do it too. Either that or apply ...
