Cath Kidston inspired cakes By cakewhizz

This Cath Kidston-inspired cake table by CakeWhizz is fantastic for so many reasons.  If you are a cakemaker planning an upcoming bridal expo, a spread like this would surely win you a lot of clients. All of the cakes fit together wonderfully, but each one can also stand on its own. Also, kudos to having such a wonderful display photographed well!

Orange Poppy Wedding Cake
Orange Poppy Wedding Cake By hannahsmomi
First time making gumpaste poppies and first time hand painting a cake! Love how it turned out!

As most of you probably know from reading Jackie’s Letter in the latest issue of Cake Central Magazine, my current obsession is multi-dimensional sugarwork. HannahsMomi’s lovely orange poppy cake  has a perfect balance of hand-painted and three-dimensional flowers.

White Chocolate Wedding Smash Cake

By Merimadang
This wedding smash cake consists of 8 kilos of Belgian couverture chocolate and 3 kilos of lollies and not a skerrick of cake. My canvas was white chocolate and I did the artwork with a combination of airbrushing and hand painting with cocoa butter. The groom is a local street art artist and the artwork I replicated is one of his pieces. Real hammers were used to smash this cake.

Merimadang’s graffiti cake is awesome. Too bad it got smashed. I love the color and the mix of airbrushing with handpainting.

Skippyjon Jones Fiesta birthday cake

Skippyjon Jones Fiesta birthday cake By micnmax2003
Skippyjon Jones (children’s book character…a Siamese cat that thinks he’s a Chihuahua) Fiesta theme for my 7yr old son. 1 layer strawberry & 1 layer banana cake w/ chocolate ganache filling (he had requested “banana split” flavoured). Inspired by the many wonderful fiesta cakes on CC.

What a fun theme for a birthday party! I’m totally in awe of all of the amazing detail on this fiesta-inspired cake by micnmax2003, from the picture-perfect rendering of silly Skippyjon Jones to the intricate nacho toppings!

Winnie the Pooh Cake

Winnie the Pooh Cake By button-moon
:D

I’m a sucker for all things Winnie-the-Pooh, so I was instantly drawn to this precious cake by button-moon with its adorable gumpaste figures of my favorite characters. The simple scene is a perfect slice of the Hundred Acre Wood!

Cracked Egg Cupcakes!

 Cracked Egg Cupcakes! By scorpio1966
I saw these cupcakes posted by ddaigle and had to try them, here is my version of the cracked egg cupcakes. Lemon cupcakes, butter cream icing and lemon filling with white chocolate egg shells. They got rave reviews! Thanks again ddaigle!

I love it when cake designs make me do a double take, and these cupcakes from scorpio1966 definitely did! I can hardly believe the realism of these sweet soft boiled eggs, made from white chocolate and lemon pudding. A shout-out to ddaigle for the inspiration!
