Animal Cake Contest 2010
All registered members are encouraged to submit a photo of your best “Animal” cake. All voting will be done by the site members and the 1st place winner will receive a $25 Gift Certificate to Global Sugar Art
Feel free to enter a cakes in the shape of, or including some elements of animals, or both!

Can we enter a photo of a cake that was previously uploaded?
I would like answers to both those questions, too.
Nevermind, I read the rules…1 entry per person.
Can you upload a picture from your photo gallery, or would you have to delete it before uploading it to the contest.
You can use a picture you’ve already uploaded, you just go to that photo in your gallery and click on edit, then you change the catagory that your photo is under (Birthday, Wedding, etc…) to 2010 Animal Contest.
Are cupcakes allowed? I have some puppy cupcakes.
Does the category “animal” include insects, like a little lady bug? I have a lady bug cake that I would like to enter if possible.
I don’t know how to upload my pic to the contest. I click on galleries, then upload photo but I’m not seeing “contests” in the drop down menu. Can someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong?
shannonlovebug – go to your photo’s, click on the picture you want to enter into the contest, then click on “Edit Photo”, when the option appears for editing go to the drop down for categories and select “Contest>2010 Animal Cakes Contest”. Then Save. Good luck!
you know what i really enjoyed about the steampunk cake contest? that people made a cake for THAT theme. i hate that you get things that aren’t really “animals” as entries. oh well.
I’m new at making cakes, so I have a farm animal cake where the animals on the cake are made completely from fondant, but the barn and silo on the cake with them are kid’s toys. Would this cake be eligible then?

I am new to this kind of contest. Can you explain what you are catagorizing as animals. Amphibians, included? I am really excited to try this out and being new I do not have a major stash of pictures of cakes to go through, so I can have fun designing. Thanks for this chance to participate.

HELP i added the wrong phot to the contest, I still want it in my my pics but not in this category, I can’t click on edit photo because when I do it says only allowed one photo, which I know I just want the right one!
I submitted a photo, but I am not seeing it show up in the 2010 Animal Cakes Contest Gallery. I’ve tried to upload it a second time, but it says I’ve already submitted a photo. How come I can’t see my photo?

I entered a cake into the contest but I cant seem to get back to the pictures just to look through the entries. Can someone point me in the right direction please? Do we have to wait until voting starts to look through them? Im fairly new to this site and Im still trying to figure it all out. Thanks.
I uploaded a photo last week, 8 /15/2010, but it still isn’t appearing in the contest. I keep going through all the entries, but my cake is not there.

I tried to upload again this morning, but it’s telling me only on entry per contestant.
my photo won’t upload. It says it doesn’t exist, then when I try to repost it says “only one entry per contestant”.
ME TOO! i uploaded my photo and it didnt work and now when i try it says “only one photo per user!” how terrible! that makes me so mad!
I had the same thing happen as lifeisgood. It told me my photo doesn’t exist, and won’t let me try to submit it again. I still haven’t heard back from my message I sent using the “contact” form. Guess I’m not going to get an entry to this one… it was my first try!

well, I couldn’t see mine, either. I assumed it was not accepted or perhaps I hadn’t followed some rule. As well, I thought maybe it’s so we can’t vote on our own cakes?? Sounds wonky, but they’re the only explainations I could come up with. I don’t know if I’m even close….Has anyone heard??

Hmmm… Well, it’d be nice to know. Assuming I didn’t win, but would like to see the cake that did!
it usually takes about a week for the results to be ready! theyll be on this page though!
