White Chocolate IMBC with Cartoned Egg Whites

Posted by 3GCakes I love the convenience of using pasteurized, cartoned egg whites. Problem is, many cartons state not to use for meringues because they were heat-pasteurized and that is supposed to make them unstable. I have found this not to be the case, though some trial and error HAS proven some brands to be better than others. Personally, I prefer the Kroger store brand and have developed my recipe so that the entire carton can be used without having to have a partial carton in the fridge. This is a good recipe too for those who want to try an IMBC that is not... read more

Ingredients 1. 3 cups of white chocolate chips (either Hershey's, Nestle's, or the larger candy melts) DO NOT SUBSTITUTE WITH ALMOND BARK. This is a big mistake....I know..I tried it. Do not use shaved... read more

Peanut Butter Buttercream

Posted by Foxicakes I wanted a peanut butter flavored buttercream that would come out light and fluffy, yet not be too sweet. It goes perfectly with the chocolate cake on the back of the Hershey's cocoa can and this is exactly enough for filling and icing two 8 inch layers. I used the Smart Balance chunky peanut butter and it came out really tasty. Ingredients 1 package of Dream Whip 1/2 cup Half and Half 1 stick butter, softened (I used the Smart Balance Buttery Sticks which is 50% butter and 50% margerine) 3/4 cup peanut butter (I used Smart Balance... read more
