Would you please explain why you call this Strawberry Chiffon Cake? Did you forget some ingredients and steps? Also, what website would you like to credit? Thanks.
Would you please explain why you call this Strawberry Chiffon Cake? Did you forget some ingredients and steps? Also, what website would you like to credit? Thanks. I feel the same way, where are the strawberries?
Recipe is from ifood tv website minus the almond extract thats called for in the original recipe.. Its a regular chiffon cake with your choice of fruit & whipped cream & I believe thats what the OP meant by adding "Strawberry" to the title Chiffon cake as she chose to use strawberries. Original recipe http://www.ifood.tv/recipe/chiffon-cake-0
Heres a similar recipe that contains strawberries. http://bakingbites.com/2010/07/strawberry-chiffon-cake/
Looks like this could be a nice recipie...where are the strawberries???
I would assume that the strawberries, kiwi and whipped topping are "optional" as it states in the ingredients list. That would mean to top it with those or other fruits as you desired. Maybe I am wrong but that is the way I understood the recipe???
Hey Kohaku, are you from New Zealand? This is a very cool recipe...and I topped mine with ripe Kiwifruit and Feijoas. Awesome. Thanks.
Hmmmmmmm.....why is this called a strawberry cake?! Could be the makings of a great cake if strawberries were there...?
I wonder if you could replace the water with strawberry puree and add strawberry flavouring?
i've been doing chiffon cake for ages...you can use the same recipe for different flavours by replacing water with for example coconut juice and vanilla for pandan essence to make coconut pandan chiffon cake...or fresh orange juice and omit vanilla and add 1 tsp of grated orange zest to make orange chiffon cake
forgot to add, in response to LisaPeps, yes maybe you can replace with strawberry puree however it will be too thick so you might need to add water until the consistency is between water and freshly squeezed orange juice and replace vanilla with strawberry essence or flavouring...i've already tried mango puree but 'watered" it down once but did have much tang as the orang chiffon......
Sound WONDERFUL CAN'T WAIT TO TRY IT!!!!
Maybe a strawberry daiquiri mix added to subsitute the water? Not sure if that's too sweet? I think I'll try the orange juice subsitute though!
