"Semi-Homemade" Nutella Icing

I was very short on time and literally whipped some things together, but it came out great! Very simple, but its very very yummy. Spreads on the cake better than buttercream does – has a great consistency.

Ingredients

  • 1 Can of Fluffy White Icing
  • About 4 Tbsp of Nutella

Instructions

  1. Beat together in mixer! Ta-da all done. The taste of nutella isn’t overwhelming. Add more if you want intense chocolate-hazelnut flavor. I was able to generously ice a 2-layer 8″ cake with this amount.

need thoughts as to best way to use this idea...my husband loves nutella and I've been trying to figure out what kind of cake to make. Was thinking even just a basic french vanilla or devils food cakes would be good with this....we also love banana nutella crepes so I'm trying to think of a way to do something like that....maybe french vanilla cake, layer of frosting, sliced bananas, layer of frosting, layer of cake? Any other suggestions?

@learningtodecorate Nutella is a chocolate hazelnut spread. Its delicious! Its great used in a sandwich, on croissants, apples, and well just about everything!

@Leah1974 Thinking about what you want, have you tried maybe whipping up some nutella into some whip cream so its more of a foamy texture and try using it as a filling in a banana flavored sponge cake? It sounds good as I say it, so I might have to try it myself, haha.

I made a Boston Cream Pie for someone who doesn't like chocolate...I used the Nutella on the top....added milk until it was the consistency I was looking for. YUMMY!

Leah1974 NUTELLA is a hazelnut spread that you can buy in the peanut butter isle. It's fantastic and you can make so many things with. My mom would just put it on a slice of bread for a snack. YUMMINESS!!

I make a yellow cake, spread a layer of nuttella and make a fudge type icing with hazelnut creamer instead of the water or milk. It has been one of the favorites I have done.
