I love this recipe because when I run out of piping gel I use this and it work really good for me.

Piping Gel Recipe

Ingredients

  • INGREDIENTS: 4 envelopes (2 tablespoons) unflavored gelatin 4 tablespoons cold water 4 cups light Karo syrup, or light corn syrup

Instructions

  1. INSTRUCTIONS:
  2. Sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water in a small saucepan and let set for about 5 minutes. Heat on low until the gelatin has become clear/dissolved - "DO NOT BOIL". Add the syrup and heat thoroughly. Cool and store, refrigerated, for up to 3 months.

This was great! So easy to make. I used it to fill a martini glass and will fill a bathtub on another cake.

where do you find unflavored gelatin????I have searched everywyhere?

Unflavored gelatin is usually in the "baking needs" aisle. Knox is generally the brand name that you'll find it under.

Coming from Scotland not sure what to use instead of corn syrup.??

YO45 - I am not sure if its the same for you in Scotland but in Australia we don't have corn syrup either and I have been told that you can substitute it for Glucose syrup. Hope that helps you.
