Here’s my molasses cookie recipe…hope you like it.
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup black molasses
2 1/4 cups self rising flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 cup sugar to roll dough in-I like to use demerara cane sugar

Instructions
Cream sugar & butter, add egg & molasses. Mix flour & spices. Add to butter mixture until all incorporated. Chill dough for 2 hours. When dough is chilled roll heaping tsp into ball. Roll balls in cane sugar. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes
I made this recipe tonight- so yummy! Made 2 batches- one plain and the other I added 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips. Really tasty addition! Rolled in turbinado sugar. Y'all definitely try this recipe!
I'm assuming that's what she meant, bobwonderbuns. However, I did not have blackstrap so I used what I had on hand which was just sorghum molasses. Not sure how that altered the taste compared to using blackstrap but I can tell you they were delish!!

Question: When it says black molasses -- is that blackstrap molasses?
