Jeweled Cookies
By: Trish43Posted by Trish43
This recipes was inspired by fruitcake. yes fruitcake nobody likes fruitcake everytime someone gets a fruitcake they bring it to me, so i thought why not make cookies and add the fruitcake mix with nuts (any type you like i prefer peacans). I hope you enjoy this recipe, so far i have lot's of people who liked the cookies even after i confessed to using fruit cake mix. this recipe is also good using a standard cake mix.Jeweled Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 Cup of all purpose flour, 1/8 teaspoon baking soda, and pitch of salt, 1/4 cup of butter, 1/4 cup of shortening, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1 egg, 1teaspoon of vanila, 1teaspoon of almond flavoring(optional), 1cup of fruit cake mix your choice and 1/2 cup of peacans.
Instructions
Preheat oven to 373 degrees .Combine flour, baking soda and salt set a side. Using a hand mixer cream butter and shortening until creamy add both brown and granulated sugar until well mixed. Add half of flour mixture with egg mix until well mixed add the second half of flour mixture with vanill and almond flavoring continue mixing untill well mixed. Fold in fruitcake mix and pecans by hand. Drop by rounded teaspoon full onto baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 8-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown, let cookies cool for 1 minute then place on wire rack. Always let cookie sheet cool before repeating baking this way cookies will not spead. EnJoy! Happy Holidays I do not have nutritional information for this recipe, but i just place this cookie in the category with the basic drop cookie like chocolate chips. If you have allergies to nuts or eggs i would not recommend using this recipe. - Peanut Butter Balls
