Upload and Embed an Image from Your Computer

  1. In a forum post or article, find the Image button which looks like this:

    - this button exists in both the rich text editor and the BB Code editor.
  2. Click the button to open the Image Tool.

  3. To upload and insert an image saved on your computer, click "Browse."  This open is set as the default when you open the Image Tool.

  4. You will be able to browse your computer to find the image you would like to upload.  Simply highlight your desired image and click "Open." 

  5. After you select the image, you can adjust the file name as you like before hitting "OK." 

  6. You can also add a Description for your image.  This Description will appear on the Image Info page and it will appear in a lightbox popover when the image is accessed from a forum post. 

  7. You will also see a check box to "Save a copy to my default album" - if you check this box, you will see the uploaded image in your default album.  From there, you will be able to move it into another album or edit the title, description, etc.

  8. Click "OK" to upload the image and insert it into your post or article.

 

If you are using the rich text editor, once your image is inserted, you can change its size or position.  Right click the image and select "Image Properties."  Once in the "Image Properties" tool, you can edit the width, height, and the alignment of the image.

 

Embed Images From Another Site Using The On Site Image Tool

  1. Click the Insert/Upload Image button.

  2. The Image Tool will open.  At the top of the tool, click the "Image URL" tab.

  3. To embed an image file from another site, paste in the URL to an image in the top field.  From Photobucket copy and paste the "Direct Link".  From most other sites, copy the address from the address bar of your browser.

  4. You will also see a check box to "Save a copy to my default album" - if you check this box, you will see the uploaded image in your default album.  From there, you will be able to move it into another album or edit the title, description, etc.

  5. Click "OK" and the image will be inserted into your post or article. 

 

 

Create And Edit Image Albums On Your Profile Page

Create A New Image Album

  1. Navigate to your user profile.

  2. In the Album section, click the "create new album" button.

  3. On the next page, add a title for the image along with an optional description.  

  4. Click Submit.

  5. The Album Editor will load allowing you to upload images to your album.

 

Add Images To An Album

  1. Navigate to your user profile.

  2. Click to edit the album of your choice.  When viewing the album, click the "edit album" button.

  3. The "add photos" tab will first load with the Easy Uploader.  Use the uploader to navigate into the file which holds the images you would like to upload.

  4. After navigating to the folder of your choice, thumbnails of images there will appear.  Check the box on the thumbnail for the images you would like to upload.

  5. If you do not have Java enabled, the uploader will not load properly.  If this is the case, you can upload up to 10 images at a time using the standard HTML uploader.

  6. When you have made your selection, click "Upload."

 

Edit Images In An Album

  1. Navigate to your user profile.

  2. Click to edit the album of your choice.  When viewing the album, click the "edit album" button.

  3. From the Album Editor, click the "edit photos" tab.

  4. The photos in your album will load, displaying with a "delete" check box, fields to edit the image name or the description, and a button to select the image to make it the album cover.

  5. When you have made your desired changes, click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the album.

  6. Please note you cannot set an album cover for the Default Album.

 

Edit An Album's Details

  1. Navigate to your user profile.

  2. Click to edit the album of your choice.  When viewing the album, click the "edit album" button.

  3. From the Album Editor, click the "edit album details" tab.

  4. From here, you can change the name of your album, change its description, and change its privacy setting.

  5. Please note you cannot change the album details for the default album.

 

Reorder Images In Your Albums

  1. Navigate to your user profile.

  2. Click to edit the album of your choice.  When viewing the album, click the "Reorder Photos" button.

  3. From here you will see a listing of your albums as well as the images in the currently selected album.

  4. To reorder the photos in your album, click on the image of choice and drag and drop it to the spot you'd like it.

  5. To move an image from one album to another, click on the image of choice and drag and drop it to the destination album in the listing to the top left of the Reorder Photos screen.

 

Delete An Album

  1. Navigate to your user profile.

  2. Click to edit the album of your choice.  When viewing the album, click the "edit album" button.

  3. From the Album Editor, click the "delete album" tab.

  4. From here, you can confirm your deletion.  This will delete the album and the images it contains.

  5. Please note you cannot delete the Default Album.

  

 

Add Videos To Posts And Articles

  1. In a forum post or an article, you will see a blue and grey film reel button.

  2. Click the button to open the video embed tool.  In the BB Code editor, you may also manually type the video code - [video].

  3. In another window, navigate to the desired YouTube or Vimeo Video.  On this page, you will find the video URL and the embed code.  Copy the text of one of those.

  4. Back in your article or forum post, paste the URL or embed text into the blank field on the video embed tool.

  5. Click "OK" and your video will appear embedded.

 

If you would like to embed a YouTube video at a particular ratio or size, you will need to use a specific form of the embed code.

  1. Navigate to the YouTube video page.
  2. Click the "Embed" button.
  3. The embed code and options will appear.
  4. Select the dimension you would like to use - 560x340, 640x385, 853x505,1280x745 or custom dimensions.
  5. Making this selection will modify the embed code.
  6. Copy the embed code.
  7. In your post or article, click "Source" and paste the HTML in Source Mode.
  8. When you save, the video will render in the appropriate size.

 

Note:  You can jump to a specific point in any YouTube Video by adding the following syntax to the end of the URL "#t=1m45s"  Just replace the numbers with the specific time in the video you want, and the video will start at that point when a user clicks your link.
