Gumpaste Glue

I looked on CC for a gumpaste glue and didn't find one. So I decided to post the one I found in case someone else found themselves in the same predicament.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbl Meringue powder 1 Tbl water or a piece of ready made gumpaste 1 Tbl water

Instructions

In a very small container mix meringue powder and water. It will have a thin consistency. (I added more meringue because I wanted it thicker) or Pull off pieces of ready made gumpaste and let it sit in the water for 30 minutes or until gumpaste is softened or dissolved.

I use VERY hot water to put mine in. and then I keep the container, with whatever is left and I just add to it as I need it. I do the gumpaste/water one.
thanks....just what i needed.
Thanks for posting :)
I ALWAYS find the answer I need on CakeCentral! Thanks sooo much!
ive been trying this and its just watery and doean't work what am i doing wrong? :(
How much is a piece of gum paste? :) thanks!
What can you use to glue fondant pieces to a buttercream iced cake?
Thanks so much !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just made a batch and it is working great !! This will sure help to save money on that pricey gumpaste the stores carry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It should also probably be noted that unused glue should be stored in the fridge when not in use and it is possible for it to go rank. I use the hot water/gumpaste method for all of mine and it only lasts about a week and a half to two weeks before smelling foul.
Quick response needed. I have done a 3D cake fish cake and the mouth is falling apart. WILL this work on Fondant???? The party is today and I need it fix it!
I mix a little pinch of cmc / tylose with 25 ml of water - makes a lovely glue which sticks anything! You can add more / less water, depending on what consistency you want. I prefer it to be thick, but runny. It lasts loooooong! ;-)
