Fantastic Vanilla Sugar Cookies
By: divineccPosted by divinecc
This cookie has great flavor and is perfect for cut outs. I have noticed a lot of people posting in OTHER sugar cookie recipes that they taste too much like flour, I haven't experienced that with this recipe, I just love it! Enjoy!Ingredients
- 3 3/4 c all purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1 c (two sticks) unsalted butter, room temp 2 c granulated sugar 2 large eggs 1 Tablespoon vanilla
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350, it is best to let it preheat 30 mins. In a medium bowl sift flour, baking powder and salt together, set aside. In a large mixing bowl beat butter and sugar until nice and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, be sure to scrape bowl after each addition. Add vanilla. Add flour mixture and mix on low speed until dough just comes together. Like any other cookie recipe, do not over mix or they will be dry/crumbly. Remove dough from bowl, knead a couple of times just until smooth and pat in to a flat disk. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill until firm enough to roll. For easy rolling, place unwrapped disk between 2 sheets of parchment and roll on top of parchment until desired thickness is reached. Remove top parchment sheet. Slide bottom parchment (the one with rolled cookie dough) onto baking sheet, cut out desired shape. Bake @ 350 for 8-10 min or until edges start to golden. Cool on rack. - Cookies for all occasions
