yes u can decorate with it.i use this recipe all the time an.d it does not have to be refridgerated.

anything to replace Crisco? my family doesn't like its flavour. also okay if replace meringue with beaten egg white?

Yes, I use all butter. It will soften quickly in the warmth of your hand though so don't fill bag too full. Once made flowers stay nice. No beaten egg whites won't work.
