Boiled Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

My grandmother makes these no-bake cookies whenever my cousins and I come to her house, and they’re always gone in a matter of minutes! Just one try and I guarantee you’ll love them, as will anyone else who eats them.

  • 1/2 Cup peanut butter of choice
  • 1/2 Cup nut meats, if desired

Instructions

  1. Line some cookie sheets or a counter with waxed paper. Set aside.
  2. Combine oats, vanilla extract, peanut butter and nuts in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan, bring sugar, cocoa, milk and butter to a rolling boil, and let boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat and pour into the large mixing bowl with the other ingredients. Mix well for at least 45 seconds, then spoon desired cookie sizes onto waxed paper. Let cool for at least 45 minutes before eating.
  5. Get a glass of milk and enjoy!

These were great, but just a little thick. I used to make a very similar recipe with my mom when I was young, and I was hoping that these would have a similar texture. Great recipe, but next time I'll cut down just a tad on the peanut butter and oats. Thanks so much for posting! My husband gives 2 thumbs up, he already ate 3. :)
